Halifax programme (2 May 1980) reports Steve Uzelac profile says he was educated at Intake High school, Doncaster and represented the Doncaster and Yorkshire Under-15 sides. He also represented Yorkshire Boys at Rugby League. Lawrie McMenemy was manager when Uzelac was spotted by Doncaster and signed semi-professional forms at age 17. He moved to Preston on a free transfer. Steve lives in Fulwood with his wife and is looking forward to the birth of his first child in October. He is interested in golf and coarse fishing.
