Ron was County's prime asset in the 1940's and reached his potential by later playing for England 8 times. Ron came to County in 1946 and was soon a regular. Within a few months scouts were regularly watching him but County held on to Ron until 1952, mainly due to a brief loss of form after a domestic tragedy in the middle of his spell. Ron eventually moved to join former manager Andy Beattie at Huddersfield. SCAN 512
