A Scotsman who came to County as late as March 1948 but went on to play 75 games at left half (77 in all) during the 40s. Alec joined from New Brighton where he had been an inside forward. There was an inauspicious start as his County debut came in borrowed boots. A resolute player Alec was a regular for 5 seasons as County came to terms with no longer being a leading light in the Northern Section. SCAN 526
